Ufff… it’s inevitable to enter this Christmas season without my heart filling with reflections and a quiet review of everything I’ve lived through over the past months. I’ve always tried to do a conscious reckoning and a small ritual to close the year, like someone tidying up their soul before stepping through a new door. But this time I feel different, paused in a strange place, as if the words refuse to line up and all the emotions are speaking at once.

What a year… what an intense movement, what a profound upheaval. Nothing stayed in its place, and perhaps that’s how it had to be. There were moments when I felt I was moving forward by feel alone, learning how to breathe in the midst of change, holding myself together with a faith that at times felt invisible, but never fully let go of me. This year taught me to release certainties, to question plans, to recognize strengths I didn’t know lived within me, and also fragilities that asked to be heard with more tenderness.

As I prepare my reflection and my ritual of gratitude, I catch myself speaking softly to myself, encouraging myself not to let the tear that insists on appearing fall. It’s not pure sadness, it’s a strange blend of exhaustion, gratitude, grief, and hope. It’s the emotion of having survived what hurt, of having grown where I didn’t expect to, of having learned that even in chaos there are seeds quietly germinating.

I take a deep breath, hug myself from the inside, and remind myself that it’s okay not to have all the answers right now. That staying paused for a moment is also an act of love, honoring what was lived without rushing, giving thanks even for what came to break structures. Because even though today I may feel stuck, I know that something within me is already preparing to bloom in a different way.

And so, with my heart a little tight but full, I choose to close this year with gratitude, with respect for my own process, and with a gentle but steady hope that what’s coming will bring more clarity, more calm, and more love than I can imagine today
